Make & Take Wreaths, Mrs. Claus, Hayrides & Laughter
Come to the Perfect Christmas Tree Farm on Saturday and Sunday, November 19 and 20 and help NJ Farmers Against Hunger (FAH) provide fresh fruits and vegetables for Thanksgiving dinner to those in need. The weekend before Thanksgiving, hardworking volunteers are scrambling to fulfill the Thanksgiving Day Distribution, and you can help.
From 10:00 AM until 5:00 PM the farm is open to Choose & Harvest your Christmas tree. Now, there is time to get it up and decorated in time for Thanksgiving for the whole family to enjoy. At the same time, you are helping countless NJ families in need of food this Thanksgiving. Perfect Christmas Tree Farm donates $10.00 to FAH for every tree sold this weekend. Every dollar donated to FAH equals 10 lbs. of food, gleaned from farmer’s fields and distributed by volunteers throughout the state.
Floral designers and professional wreath makers are on hand to assist you in creating a masterpiece wreath for you to make and take home. For less than the price of a store-bought wreath, you can create a unique Christmas decoration to place in your home or to give as a gift. The $20.00 charge benefits FAH and includes all supplies.
Mrs. Claus opens her cottage and her heart to children. A long-time favorite at Perfect Christmas Tree Farm, she reads stories, plays with toys and, this time, engages children in a discussion about Thanksgiving. Mrs. Claus excels in making respectful conversation and polite table manners, fun, and games. There are fresh baked cookies and hot chocolate to enjoy, all at no charge. Donations to FAH ‘Pounds For Pennies’ program are gratefully accepted.
The farm is getting ready for Christmas. Watch wreaths and bows being made. See garland and trees decorated. Take a hayride. Try Laughter Yoga. Come to this free 2-day event designed for all to enjoy. Perfect Christmas Tree Farm is dog-friendly.
John & Cynthia Curtis, owners of Perfect Christmas Tree Farm, raise money for FAH year round. Cynthia says, “Although we don’t grow food, we can help.” In addition to creating fund-raising community events, photographers who use the farm as a location for their shoots pay FAH, instead of the farm. “FAH is an all volunteer organization that makes the best use of the money they receive, Cynthia explains. “Not only do they offer fresh produce to those in need they also give learning materials to NJ schools for a ‘learning through gardening’ program that teaches students to grow their own food, make healthier food choices and take better care of our environment. “I am very grateful that we can help FAH,” she declares.
Churches in Warren and Hunterdon County can pick-up a free Christmas tree at this 2-day community event. For more details go to www.perfectchristmastree.com or call the farm at 908-387-1225 or Cynthia at 908-763-1945.
